Warwick Bulldogs 7U Travel Baseball Program
The 7U Travel Program is designed to introduce young players to travel baseball in a development-focused and instructional environment. This program provides an opportunity for players who are looking for more advanced instruction and additional baseball experience beyond our in-house program.
While still prioritizing learning, skill development, and fun, the 7U travel program allows players to begin experiencing a slightly more structured and competitive style of play than traditional in-house baseball.
Age Eligibility
The 7U program is for players who are seven (7) years old and do not turn eight (8) before May 1 of the current season.
Program Philosophy
The Suburban Travel Baseball League (STBL) recognizes the 7U age group as a developmental introduction to travel baseball. The focus at this level is not competition, but rather:
Learning the fundamentals of the game
Building confidence and baseball IQ
Introducing players and families to the STBL travel program
Creating a positive and instructional team environment

Because of this philosophy:
There are no playoffs or All-Star teams
The program is voluntary and developmental
The league maintains a low-key structure to keep the focus on learning and fun
Game Format
7U games are designed to support development and game understanding.
Coach Pitch format
High school umpires
Up to two coaches permitted on the field to assist with instruction and positioning
Batting format: 3 outs or one time through the lineup (whichever comes first)
Equal playing time is expected for all players
Games are typically scheduled Sunday mornings and coordinated among participating 7U teams.
Practice & Time Commitment
Players selected for the 7U travel team should expect a greater commitment than in-house baseball.
In-House Participation
To ensure continued development and maximize playing opportunities, 7U travel players will also participate in our in-house Machine Pitch division.
This allows players to continue building their skills in both environments while avoiding the feeling of “going backwards” by returning to Quickball.
A Developmental Step Forward
The 7U program is intended for players who:
Show strong interest in baseball
Are ready for additional instruction and practice
Would benefit from more game experience than in-house alone provides
For many players, this program serves as a great introduction to travel baseball while still keeping the emphasis on learning, development, and enjoyment of the game.
